This is an exciting time to join our Learning and Improvement Service as we move into a new phase of development. Our ambitious strategy, 'Improving Learning Together', incorporating the 'Southend Challenge' and developed with schools, underpins our drive to achieve excellent outcomes for all.

We are already judged to be 'Good' and 'Performing Well', however we are ambitious to secure even better outcomes for all our children and young people.

To complete our new team we are looking for a skilled and dedicated professional with a strong commitment to high standards and inclusion and a desire to maximise pupil achievement.

We are an equal opportunities employer and will consider offering the post as full-time permanent, a secondment or job share. We are looking to recruit for January 2015.

Providing high quality strategic support, advice and challenge, you will address underperformance and improve outcomes for children in Southend.

  • Do you have successful experience of senior leadership in a primary school or a Local Authority, with a track record of improving educational outcomes for all pupils?
  • Do you have comprehensive knowledge of current legislation, guidance and inspection frameworks relating to the early years and primary education?
  • Do you have detailed knowledge and a practical understanding of how school standards can be raised, including narrowing gaps and supporting the attainment of vulnerable groups?

If you have the experience, talent and creativity, a passion for education and a determination to improve outcomes for children and young people, then we would really like to hear from you.
