School Principal

Utama International School is a mixed, non-selective, independent all-through school in Malaysia, serving students from the age of 3-17. The all-through school is situated in Johor Bahru, Johor. It shares its grounds with a Malaysian national school, Sekolah Sri Utama and is recognised by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.

Utama International School was founded in 1994 and is spread across three campuses. The international school teaches THE British Curriculum, with English being the main language spoken during lessons. Students are also introduced to other languages throughout their education, with French, German, Malay and Chinese all being offered. Pupils go on to sit IGCSE exams, followed by A-levels. Facilities include a swimming pool, book shop, music room, sports fields, playing areas, sports courts and a library.

Utama International School wants to provide all students with a welcoming and enriching learning environment where they can develop the skills, knowledge, positive attitude and confidence to achieve to the highest of their ability. Dedicated teaching staff work to nurture students as happy, responsible and successful young adults who are fully prepared for life after leaving education. The all-through school wants all pupils to feel safe and happy and helps them to discover and enhance their individual skills and talents. Students are taught to show compassion and respect towards others and installs the importance of treating everyone with kindness and as equals, promoting a strong sense of community spirit and embracing all members, regardless of their differences. The school promotes cultural awareness through offering students the opportunity to get involved in community projects outside the classroom and help give back to others.
