Achievement for All 3As is a national charity that transforms the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and their families by raising educational aspirations, access and achievement.
The Achievement for All programme is a tailored, whole school improvement framework, delivered in partnership with leaders, teachers, parents, pupils and support professionals to improve outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
To meet our future development plans we are seeking professionals with school leadership or school improvement expertise who are able to demonstrate a sound understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children to join our Talent Bank in the North East. We also have other opportunities across England.
The Role
Through bi-weekly visits and INSET training, Achievement Coaches work in partnership with schools on the Achievement for All programme to create and implement a tailored and individualised school-specific programme plan to support leadership, teaching and learning, parental engagement and to develop wider outcomes such as improved pupil behaviour and attendance.
The Person
You will be a self-motivated and flexible team player, possess great networking, planning and organising skills and someone who sees solutions. Achievements Coaches need to demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:
- A belief that all pupils can learn and progress, whatever their backgrounds and share our values;
- Able to communicate and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders;
- A successful track-record working in maintained English schools to transform outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils;
- Previous experience in at least an assistant head teacher or SENCO role, or advisory level experience in school improvement;
- Excellent coaching, influencing and interpersonal skills;
- Up-to-date knowledge of policy and practice in SEND and school education broadly;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills ensuring that visit reports and termly reports are completed accurately and on time.

Successful candidates will become part of our Achievement Coach Talent Bank. Start dates will depend on the area and school registrations with the opportunity to build up days as more schools register. Due to the rapid expansion we need to have coaches selected, successful references plus Enhanced Disclosure obtained, in readiness for coaches to be activated as required. When we have work for you we will make an offer of a contract of employment and organise training - start dates could be as early as September 2014 and beyond. (We regret we are unable to offer consultancy or self-employed contracts. Also work is not guaranteed and will depend upon local demand).
