We are excited about our recent conversion to an Ormiston academy and will now work with Ormiston Academies Trust to create an academy with more freedom to develop exciting ways of teaching and learning and a curriculum designed around the student.

About the role
We have a new opportunity for a science teacher.

The successful candidate will have qualified teacher status (QTS) and appropriate and relevant qualifications in relation to the post. They will also meet the core standards within the framework of the Professional Standards for Teachers in England.

Subject to the outcome of annual performance management review, the post holder will undertake personal development in relation to up to three targets as defined within the Professional Standards for Teachers in England.

Personal Attributes and Vision
The post holder will combine the characteristics of a good communicator, and negotiator. They must be able to provide clear leadership and decision making in the classroom but also work effectively as a team member and to be credible to colleagues and partners through the quality of their personal performance. Good physical and mental health are an essential.

The post holder will be self-motivating, reflective and creative in solving problems and challenge their practice and seek personal improvement. Their performance will consistently ensure the provision of good or better learning and teaching, which leads to good pupil progress and achievement.

The post holder will ensure that the all pupil safeguarding duties, including child protection responsibilities are fully met and that, where applicable, all relevant health and safety legislation and the maintenance of risk assessment is complied with.

Cowes Enterprise College (CEC) is a new £32 million building catering for students aged 11-19. The college started working with national academy sponsor Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) in 2013 and is aiming to become an Ormiston academy from September. The college has a business and enterprise specialism and the new site has a dynamic range of technology to support learning and provide a college environment that will stimulate and inspire our students and all who access our college.
