William Bradford Community College is a 14-19 Specialist Technology College and will become a member of a Multi Academy Trust in September 2014.

The college serves communities in the Hinckley and Bosworth Borough District including the town of Earl Shilton and the villages of Barwell, Stoney Stanton and Stapleton.

Operating on a single site, staff and students benefit from modern, up to date facilities.

In 2012, the college received an adverse Ofsted judgement.
However, all recent HMI monitoring visits note that the school is making reasonable progress to becoming a good school.
In particular, these report note the positivity of the senior team, the effectiveness of college plans and the determined approach with regards to challenging target to secure improved outcomes.

Our ideal candidate will have already made an impact in the teaching of Science at KS4 & 5 and significantly improved outcomes for students in their care. You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner successful and an effective leader in raising standards in a school that is similar in context to our own..

The successful applicant will:

  • plan, prepare and teach lessons to KS4 and KS5;
  • be accountable for levels of progress for allocated class groups
  • have a passion for teaching Science;
  • participate in the development of schemes of work and lesson plans;
  • work collaboratively with colleagues;
  • demonstrate excellent classroom skills;
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and
  • be passionate about learning and be committed to working with the full range of students' needs and talents.
  • be in charge of a range of subjects* within the Faculty
  • be accountable for outcomes of  specified subject  within the Faculty
