Post based at Amersham

We seek to recruit a Technician to support the Access provision, including our new Applied Science courses and join our expanding Service Industries department.

Working at our Amersham campus; you will be responsible for maintaining and preparing equipment, chemicals and the laboratory area for classes. In addition, you will support the Lecturers by attending classes to assist with demonstrations, guide students in practical's and ensure the room is clear and tidy at the end of each day. A highly organised and efficient team member, you will enjoy sharing your practical science experience during classes and ensuring a safe environment for learners, supporting them to achieve their goals.

Candidates must be qualified to 'A' Level or level 3 equivalent in a Science subject, or have substantial experience in the subject area. Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (GCSE A-C equivalent) are also essential.

Amersham and Wycombe College is mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, further education college, situated in High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Approximately 1,420 students currently follow vocational 16 to 18 study programmes, with around 900 taking courses at level 3, 400 at level 2 and 120 at level 1. The most popular subject areas are the creative industries, health and social care, business studies, and sport and public services. 

Amersham and Wycombe College is currently in discussions with Aylesbury College, with the intention to focus on bringing together both colleges, sharing their expertise and resources to create one combined college.
