35 hours per week, term time plus two weeks

We are looking for someone who loves Science. They should have a good level of Science knowledge and be able to manage the resources within the department.

The person we are looking for must be able to prioritise, be flexible and committed to working as part of a team within our Science Department. Students enjoy Science and are particularly keen to take part in innovative and practical ways of working. It is essential that you has the knowledge to provide a safe, effective and efficient laboratory technical service for students and staff. The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians within the department and would also be involved the administration of exam entries, data management and budgeting.

Aylsham High is a popular and successful school with a strong ethos of community spirit and mutual respect. We are currently oversubscribed as a result of the excellent performance of students in their GCSE and equivalent examinations and also thanks to the friendly, purposeful and warm atmosphere that exists within the school.

Aylsham High School is a co-educational 11-16 secondary school in Aylsham, Norwich, Norfolk, with specialism in business and enterprise.

In July 2016, the school formed the Aylsham Learning Federation with Bure Valley School to help support the development of education in Aylsham. It has also become the first Cluster in Norfolk to form a Co-operative Cluster Trust,

Aylsham High School believes that its specialism of business and enterprise encourages the development of qualities in its students that universities and employers value most – creativity, independent thinking, confident communication, imaginative problem solving and skilled leadership. 

The school’s facilities are undergoing a programme of improvement. Recent additions to the main building include the installation of two purpose-built catering rooms with high specification equipment and the construction of a modern hairdressing salon.
