Education Scotland is Scotland's national improvement agency for education. Our role is to promote innovation and change in the education system, from the early years to adult learning and we are committed to embedding our values of excellence, creativity, integrity and respect in everything we do.

To help us drive our ambitious agenda for improving outcomes for Scottish learners, we are now recruiting a team of secondees to work within key areas of the organisation.

Scots Language Co-ordinators will work with the Scottish Government and other key organisations to establish a vision for the national development of the Scots language within Scottish education. Working with education authorities and schools, Co-ordinators will provide support in developing learning, teaching and assessment that provides progressive and coherent learning of the Scots languages across the four contexts of 3-18 learning.

The Scots Language Co-ordinator posts are being offered on a 23 month secondment basis.

Education Scotland was created on 1st July 2011, bringing together the work of Learning and Teaching Scotland, Her
Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education for Scotland, the National CPD team and the Scottish Government’s Positive Behaviour Team.
