Job overview

Seasonal Youth Staff - German Speaking, Southampton

As a market leader in the cruise industry, we operate spectacular ships all over the world. Do something different in 2014, and join us in our youth team. You'll discover that working at sea is more than just a job - it's a way of life. Delivering an exciting range of onboard activities tailored for passengers aged from 0-17, you'll visit different places, explore new worlds and gain experiences that stay with you for a lifetime.

We're responsible for safeguarding and entertaining children and young people in secure, market-leading youth facilities. From breakfast clubs to night nursery, our talented youth teams deliver a wide range of first class child care and onboard activities, including Noddy & Mr Bump themed sessions, game shows, arts, crafts, youth DJs, football coaching, face painting and more. With safety responsibilities in emergency situations and working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week for the length of your contract onboard, it'll be a challenge \ but one you'll thrive on as you create memorable holiday experiences.

We're looking for resilient, passionate and inspiring German-speaking youth staff to be champions of safeguarding in our trusted teams and role models to our customers. We pride ourselves on having worked with the NSPCC on the safeguarding aspects of our recruitment process to promote the safety and well-being of child passengers. That means you'll also need childcare experience, a qualification relevant to working with children at Level 3 or above and be fluent in German to support our German speaking passengers. Preferably, you'll also have a DBS/CRB check dated within the last 12 months, which was carried out whilst working in a childcare environment.

If you're a team player with the drive to develop your career with a world-leading ship's company that comprises the prestigious P&O Cruises and Cunard Line brands, join us on our journey.

Carnival UK is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all employees, volunteers and contractors to share this commitment. This post is subject to the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks.
