Job overview

  • Are you a truly outstanding Maths teacher?
  • Do you have a roll up your sleeves mentality to your work?
  • Do you want to make a significant difference to a community that has suffered from years of under-achievement?
  • Are you passionate about working with students who lack personal ambition?
  • Are you ready to help develop the practise of other teachers?

If you can answer yes to all of these questions and you are ready to be the deputy head of department, then we should probably talk. I will happily take any phone calls if you need more information. I want someone to join our team no later than January 2015 who will make a minimum two and a half year commitment and who will enjoy an extended TLR payment by taking on co-ordination of KS4 Maths catch-up intervention.

I became the Headteacher on 1st September this year, and from day one I've delivered a very clear message to our staff, students and parents. It is that every one of us must take ownership of ambition and raise our expectations of the success we can achieve, both individually and as a community. I insist that this is not a school where complacency is tolerated. This is a school that is totally focused on ensuring that every child is supported and challenged to deliver outstanding personal progress.

On 1 June 2013, Addington High School become an Academy, sponsored by the Ravens Wood Learning Trust. Our aim is simple, to become outstanding. We have already made significant strides towards this and we are looking for driven, committed and ambitious teachers to join our team.

Applications through agencies will not be considered.

Informal visits to the school are welcomed. Application packs can be downloaded from this page or from the school website www.addington.croydon.sch.uk.

Completed application forms should be sent to Debbie Murphy (dmurphy3.306@lgflmail.org) by 4.30pm on Wednesday 22nd October 2014.

Successful candidate to take up post January 2015 or sooner.

I look forward to hearing from you.
