Job overview

Second in MFL/EAL, Birmingham

Ref No: T40-SecMFL/EAL

Due to restructuring and the internal promotion of existing departmental staff, the opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a Second in Department.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious colleague who is prepared to go the extra mile for our students. If you have a dynamic and innovative approach to teaching and learning and the curriculum then we look forward to hearing from you.

As an outstanding practitioner, you will work alongside a team in leading the Zone to ensure all students continue to make rapid and sustained progress. This is an exciting developmental time for the MFL/EAL Zone.

This is an exciting time to join NBA. Our examination results at each key stage have increased and the Academy is placed in the top 3% of schools/academies for progress. In April 2013, we moved into a £24 million purpose built academy with superb facilities and resources.

We have been awarded IiP Gold, Arts Mark Gold and 3 Leading Aspect awards for:

  • Achieving excellent retention and career progression of early career teachers, through the implementation of an outstanding induction and support programme in their first years of teaching
  • Improving student access to Learning and CVA through Inclusion/ECM Agenda
  • Challenging underachievement through re-designing the academy day/week and the Curriculum

NBA offers superb training, CPD opportunities and is a lead in NQT training and progression.
If you would like to be part of this exciting forward moving academy details and application form are available from the Academy's website: www.nbacademy.org.uk/Current-Vacancies

Closing date: Monday 28 April 2014 12:00 Midday

Ofsted

“Teaching is improving in many subjects and it is good in English, geography, history, drama and information technology. Many pupils are making stronger progress than they have in the past, including in the sixth form. Opportunities for pupils to develop spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness are improving. Safeguarding is a strength of the school and pupils feel safe.”
