Job overview

Secondary Development Lead

As we continue to grow, moving into KS4 with our pilot schools in September and planning for KS5 for the year after, we are seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate to work with the Mathematics Mastery team to further develop our curriculum, teaching resources and professional development programme for schools in our partnership.

There are two main aspects of the role:

  • Curriculum Development - developing leading edge training materials and teaching resources for schools choosing to adopt the Mathematics Mastery approach. The focus will be mainly on KS4 and 5, but there will be opportunities to review and develop our KS3 programme and to work with our primary curriculum team.
  • School Development - working directly with teachers and leaders in schools to support the implementation of the programme and to gather feedback so we can continue to improve our provision.

The exact ratio of the duties will depend on the experience and interests of the successful candidates, with the purpose of this role being to help run an excellent programme for schools and to improve the life chances of children through improving their attainment in mathematics. The Development Lead will be an important member of a small team and work closely with the Director of Curriculum and other team members. They will have the opportunity to make a real difference and develop professionally in a fast paced and growing organisation.

We are always interested to hear from great teachers keen to join our team, so feel free to get in touch anytime. To apply, please upload your CV and covering letter at https://application.arkschools.net/vacancy/YpZ87Rkw by 11am on Thursday 2 October.

Please contact us for detailed information about the role, or if you have any questions, at info@mathematicsmastery.org or 020 3116 0793.

For any technical help with your application, please contact schools.recruitment@arkonline.org or 0203 116 6345.

Deadline: Thursday 2 October

Mathematics Mastery is a non-profit organisation, dedicated to transforming mathematics education in the UK.

Based on international evidence and practice, our school improvement programme aims to enhance pupils' enjoyment, resilience, understanding and attainment in mathematics.

Originally established as an Ark venture, Mathematics Mastery was founded by Dr Helen Drury - a pioneer of teaching and learning for mastery in UK schools.

Mathematics Mastery has a vision for all children to enjoy and succeed in maths, regardless of background. We believe in high-quality, maths-focused professional development for teachers can make this happen.

Launching within a small group of schools in 2012, the programme has grown to work with hundreds of schools across the country.
