As a Section Leader, you will contribute fully to the promotion and continued success of the College by taking responsibility for curriculum development and quality of English, Maths and Teacher Training.

Taking responsibility for the development of English, Maths, A-levels and other non-landbased academic subject areas including Business, Teacher Education and ICT, you must manage the human and physical resources of the Section in order to satisfy the needs of the curriculum; ensuring all timetabling for the Section, by Easter of each year and that all college data is accurate and submitted in a timely fashion.

Adopting an innovative and energetic approach to the development and implementation of curriculum delivery and development strategies for all courses, you will effectively performance manage the area in respect of staff, student behaviour and financial management and identify curriculum marketing strategies and new curriculum development opportunities.

With experience of successfully managing people coupled with strong teaching experience including course management, you should have experience of effectively managing a budget, curriculum development and timetabling. Educated to Honours degree level and/or equivalent in a relevant subject, you must hold a teaching qualification and have experience of the delivery of English OR Maths to GCSE and A level with the capability of teaching English and Maths to L3.

Askham Bryan College is a further education college based in York. It is a non-denominational college.

Originally opened in 1948, the first students enrolled on residential courses at the then Yorkshire Institute of Agriculture. Until 1964 only agriculture and horticulture courses were available but during the 1970s the range of subjects was broadened and higher education qualifications were also offered. Today the college offers courses from entry level to honours degrees and has a turnover of £29 million.
