Job overview
Croydon has the largest population of children and young people under 18 in London and has over 100 Primary and Secondary schools with high levels of movement and demographic change. There is evidence of increasing demand for specialist school placements and the Council has invested £35 million in a capital programme to increase the supply of specialist places and develop a more varied range of provision, including an improved post-16 offer.
As a direct result of the Children and Families Act and the SEN Code of Practice (2014), Croydon's SEN Service is extending its remit and expanding to become a 0-25 Service. Due to this expansion, we have a number of exciting new posts within the Service.
We are seeking to recruit an SEN Commissioning Team Manager. You will be someone who is used to challenging and being challenged by experienced professionals, using all available information to get the best outcomes for children.
You will need to be familiar with the current Special Educational Needs Code of Practice and a broader understanding of special educational needs would be an advantage.
