SEND Teaching Assistant

Fulstow Primary Academy, Fulstow, Louth, is seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work as part of our team from November 2014.  This is to support a Y4 child with a Statement of Educational Needs. This is a temporary contract, depending on the needs of the child changing or the child leaving the academy.

A relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification is desirable, along with experience of working with children with behavioural and emotional difficulties. Knowledge of the KS2 primary curriculum would be an advantage.

Applicants must be hardworking, caring, flexible and positive. You will need to be adaptable to the child's needs and able to work with others to provide a structured framework for learning.  

The post is part-time; 25 hours per week and is offered as a temporary appointment to commence from November 2014.

The applicant will be expected to:

• Provide support for a child with a Statement of Special Educational Needs both in and out of class;
• Follow and implement IEPs (Individual Educational Plans);
• Prepare resources and teaching materials;
• Promote the school's inclusive Values by providing a nurturing learning environment;
• Liaise with outside agencies and parents, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.
