Job overview

Senior Houseparents, Manchester

Summer 2014 sees the opening of Manchester City's City Football Academy (CFA), a global centre of excellence in the heart of East Manchester. The CFA is a unique facility that brings together a best in class academy with new first team training facilities and all of the Club's operations, right next to the Etihad Stadium and in the heart of the community.

The new Academy building includes an on-site accommodation building for up to 38young elite football players (scholars) and aims to enhance the all-round development of players through providing a high-quality 'home from home' experience.

Manchester City Football Club are now looking to recruit three sets of couples who will be responsible for supporting the needs and welfare of the young players living in the accommodation block, more commonly known as Houseparents. The Houseparents will live and work on site and receive complementary self-catering accommodation and access to dining facilities.  The posts are as follows:

  1. Senior Houseparents: one couple, combined salary circa £60k dependant on experience

This is a unique opportunity to provide a positive contribution to the professional and personal development of young athletes.
The Senior Houseparents will live on-site from Sunday afternoon/evening to Friday afternoon/evening throughout the 'football year'. Reporting to the Senior Houseparents, part-time Houseparents will work from Friday afternoon/evening until Sunday afternoon/evening for two weekends in every four on a rota basis with other part-time Houseparents. Successful candidates will receive a comprehensive benefits package including free private health care on completion of a probationary period.

If you wish to apply, please send one covering letter per couple and a CV with a passport sized photograph attached for each houseparent to michael.holman@hays.com, or call 01612363617 for further information.

Please note: we are looking for couples who are able to demonstrate they have been in a stable relationship for a period of time. The provisions within the accommodation will not allow for the accommodation of dependants, personal visitors or pets.
