The School of Education is one of the largest providers of teacher education in the country and has a long-standing reputation for producing outstanding teachers. As a result of the expansion of our PGCE Secondary and School Direct programmes and partnership with TeachFirst, we have a vacancy for a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science with Professional Studies. The post is initially a 2 year fixed term contract at Senior Lecturer level.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in Secondary schools as a subject specialist and school-based tutor or trainer, as well as having had successful experience providing professional training for colleagues. Ideally, you will have worked on initial teacher education programmes within an HEI or SCITT and/or schools. A first degree, QTS and a higher degree at Master's level are essential.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead on the development of teaching and training in Computer Science in our expanding Secondary ITE partnership, work with colleagues in the curriculum area on our primary programmes, develop subject-focussed CDP and postgraduate programmes as well as engaging in research. The post provides an ideal opportunity for an innovative curriculum leader to establish the subject within the University, Teach First and school/college partnerships.
