You will play a leading role:

In maintaining the standards of examinations and key aspects of the assessment and awarding of a range of qualifications from specification development, question paper evaluation, moderation and standardisation processes to awarding bodies.

The focus of the role:

The main focus of the role will be the requirement to act as a Senior Manager Assessment Standards (Chair of Examiners) for a range of both general and/or vocational qualifications. The role may therefore include management of a Deputy Chair for some aspects of the work.

What we are looking for:

  • You will have an appropriate level of subject-specific experience or expertise in at least one subject area - either general or vocationally based.
  • You will have a considerable knowledge of the UK qualifications system and related current developments, an understanding of relevant assessment principles and a proven track record in teaching in schools, FE ,HE or Training Establishments.
  • You will have participated at a senior level in the examination or assessment process, for example in question paper or task setting, moderation and awarding.
  • You will have experience of effective chairing of meetings will be an essential attribute.

Based in Cambridge or Coventry. There will also be a requirement to travel.
