Derby has a strong School Improvement and Governor team working with schools and academies across and beyond the City as part of the 'Derby Winners' strategy. We are committed to raising standards and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our young people.
We wish to appoint a Senior School Improvement Officer to join the team following the promotion of the current post-holder to the role of HMI. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong track record as a successful headteacher and/or experience of working within an LA school improvement service.
Applications are particularly welcome from candidates with experience and expertise in the secondary and/or special sectors.
You will be expected to:
- provide support and challenge to a group of schools
- work with headteachers, senior leaders and school governors to improve educational outcomes
- broker effective support for schools
- identify and disseminate good practice
- promote effective monitoring and self-evaluation.
