At Pearson UK we value having a diverse workforce where we aim to reflect the world in which we operate at all levels of the business. We always seek to hire the best people who share our values, drive initiatives and improve results.

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Technical Support Manager to join our business.

The Technical Support team is responsible for the technical and statistical support for the awarding of all Pearson qualifications in the UK, including GCSE, International GCSE, GCE A/AS level, AEA, Functional Skills, Project, Diploma Principal Learning and BTEC. The Senior Technical Support Manager is key to our succession planning for the Head of Technical Support, working closely with Ofqual and colleagues from other Awarding Bodies and from within Pearson to implement policy in line with the regulatory requirements.

Some of the key areas of work for the team include:

  • Statistical research including the production and dissemination of Pearson's examination statistics
  • Accountability for the awarding process and the production of information for the awarding process
  • The analysis of examination data and the selection and provision of inter-board data and materials for inter-board and national archives.
  • Line management responsibility for the Technical Support team consisting of 8 members.

The Senior Technical Support Manager is a specialist leader role. We are looking for people who have a numerate background and a good knowledge of the education system. The ideal applicant will be able to put their statistical knowledge into context and lead a team to deliver a highly complex set of operational processes to tight deadlines. Of course, if you already work within the field of educational assessment then you would be an ideal candidate. There is the scope for flexibility over the title of the role depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.

In return for helping us help people make progress in their lives through education you too will have the chance to learn and grow in a dynamic transforming organisation. We offer an impressive range of benefits including: competitive salary, private health care, generous employer subsidised pension, life assurance, holidays, flexible hours of work, interest free season ticket loan, Pearson save for shares scheme.
