Job overview

Outstanding Birmingham school looking for excellent senior leader to drive it to further success

St Alban's Academy is an outstanding Church of England school serving the Highgate area of Birmingham.

The school specialises in engineering and maths and has the best engineering/technology facilities of any 11-18 school in the area. Since joining the ARK Schools group in 2009, the number of pupils gaining 5A*-C GCSE grades (including maths and English) has more than doubled from 31% to 64%. In 2011 the school was judged as outstanding by Ofsted. Recently the school has moved into its iconic, award-nominated new building, and opened a sixth form.

The school is looking to continue its great start to life as an ARK academy. It is therefore seeking a talented Senior Vice Principal to help it continue to deliver a transformative education to its pupils.

If you're an excellent teacher and leader with a reputation for raising standards in a challenging environment, coupled with relentless drive and resilience, then we want to hear from you. This role would suit a dynamic leader with ambitions for Headship; you will benefit from the coaching of an inspirational Principal and excellent training from one of the country's top performing academy networks.

You will share our unwavering belief that every child, whatever their background, can go on to university or pursue the career of their choice.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged - to arrange this, or for an informal conversation, please contact Rachael Bemrose on 0203 116 6345 or Rachael.Bemrose@arkonline.org
