Due to unforeseen circumstances we are seeking to appoint a Site Manager for approximately 6 months from Sept/Oct 2014. We are a friendly and supportive school with 210 children between the ages of 4-11 and close links to St Albans Abbey. We are looking for a friendly, hardworking and reliable Site Manager to ensure the satisfactory operation of the school's building, grounds and equipment to support the learning and work environment. Please see the Person Specification and Job Description for specific skills and duties.

Previous experience, although desirable, is not essential as training will be provided. The post is for up to 37 hours per week at Grade H3/H4. Holidays are to be taken during school holiday periods. The Site Manager is responsible for the the contract cleaners who clean the seven classrooms and most of the communal areas daily.

The post involves working a split morning and afternoon shift. The hours can have some degree of flexibility and may be negotiable for the right candidate. In the first instance we are suggesting 7am until 9.45am and 12.45pm until 5.30pm (overtime may be available).

Visits to our school are encouraged. We are committed to safeguarding and the post is subject to an enhanced CRB clearance and health check.

The Abbey CE VA Primary School is a popular voluntary aided school affiliated to the Church of England, and it enjoys strong links with St Albans Cathedral, which is its parish church. The schools' Christian ethos permeates through all areas of school life. In June 2013, Church School inspectors (Section 48) judged the school to be an 'outstanding' Church of England school. In September 2008, Ofsted also judged the school to be 'outstanding. Personal development of pupils and standards of achievement were judged to be outstanding, with pupils described as 'tremendous ambassadors for the school.'The school achieves high standards of attainment and values its caring Christian ethos.
