This vibrant 11-16 school with a roll of 1,500 students has excellent facilities in all subject areas. Kingsford Community School is committed to high quality inclusive education for students of whom fifty per cent are multilingual. The school has achieved a range of nationally accredited awards and was rated by Ofsted in 2013 as Good with Outstanding Leadership and behaviour.

Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding Special Needs Teacher from September 2014, or earlier if possible.The successful candidate will have appropriate SEN qualifications.  Experience of conducting assessment of learning difficulties is essential to this role, as is planning appropriate curriculum provision and intervention programs for pupils with special needs.  Experience of Dyslexia assessment and teaching dyslexic pupils is highly desirable, as is experience of supporting P-level pupils or pupils on the ASD spectrum. 

Experience and qualifications to conduct Exams Access Assessment is also highly desirable.  The successful candidate will support in successfully leading the school's provision for pupils with learning difficulties and make a wider contribution to whole-school improvement. The SEN curriculum area is an integral part of our wider support and intervention faculty.

As a teacher of pupils with learning difficulties, you will support the development of a whole-school ethos in which the raising of pupils' aspirations is central to your work on a day-to-day basis. The school community will need to see you as a highly effective leader who is able to lead by example through being an excellent practitioner. You will set the highest expectations for yourself and for others. You must be committed to ensuring that all pupils receive an outstanding educational experience in a school that is focused on raising performance at every level.  NQT?s are welcome to apply.
