STEM Consultancy opportunities

Myscience is responsible for the Network of Science Learning Centres, the National STEM Centre and a range of other STEM programmes.

We are expanding our database of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) consultants to increase the number of national and regional experts who can support our programmes across the UK. Expressions of interest are welcome from consultants with experience in the field of STEM CPD and from school-based staff including Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) and National Leaders in Education (NLEs) who have expertise in the STEM area. We are interested in experts who are available for short term support work in schools and/or to contribute to a range of CPD activity. We welcome applications from individuals with a range of skills and expertise, but particularly in one or more of the following areas:

  • Extensive experience with working with clusters of schools and networks at a strategic level
  • Knowledge of support and developing primary science and mathematics
  • Knowledge of GCSE science particularly of Triple science
  • Understanding and up to date awareness of current educational research
  • Ability to support within a specialist subject of Biology Physics, Chemistry to post 16 standard
  • Wide experience of coaching, mentoring, inspection, needs analysis, data analysis, and bespoke provision
  • Expertise in the fields of Technology, Engineering and Maths through the 0-19 age and ability range

Consultants will be self-employed or available on a consultancy basis from employment. Specialist Leaders of Education and National Leaders in Education would be able to develop their outreach function using the established processes in place in their Teaching School Alliance.

Work will be allocated on a needs led basis.
