Calthorpe is an all age 2-19 special academy catering for 368 pupils with Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Autism and Challenging Behaviour.

  • We seek an exceptional Strategic Business Manager to be a key part of our Senior Leadership Team, working collaboratively with the Principal, Board and wider governing body.
  • You will take responsibility for the financial management of the Academy, operational running of the business, focusing on our marketing, fund raising and infrastructure.
  • 2 significant areas of engagement will dominate your role:
  1. You will ensure that we have the very best staff, structures, systems and processes in place, providing a highly professional provision that is seamless across all aspects of our academy's function and operation.
  2. You will ensure that we capitalise on entrepreneurial opportunities which facilitate the creation of effective and productive partnerships. Generating income through fund raising and grant applications to enable you to develop the business side of the academy providing a path for an extensive range of innovative experiences for our staff, students and wider community.

  • You will be a talented, experienced and enthusiastic professional taking the leading role in the business management of the academy.
  • You will have an appetite for transitional change, have the ability to work comfortably within an educational setting and committed to enhancing our ethos and values as an outstanding provider.
  • Experience of people management, property maintenance, health and safety and financial management will be essential in this role and we will focus on up-skilling you in any areas identified for further development.
