Job overview

St Paul's Way Trust School, in association with King's College, London, is seeking to appoint an outstanding, creative and forward-looking Subject Leader for Mathematics to work closely alongside the Head of Faculty.

This is an outstanding career opportunity for a colleague who is passionate about the entitlement of young people to a rich and varied maths curriculum. Working alongside the Head of Faculty, you will be responsible for the development of powerful curriculum plans, bringing pace and challenge to the learning of all students in our fully comprehensive and heavily oversubscribed school. You will be an outstanding classroom teacher, with a track record of achieving strong academic results and a compelling vision for the leadership of innovative teaching and learning. You will have a contagious enthusiasm for maths that excites and motivates both staff and students, coupled with an unwavering belief in the potential of every learner, and a robust commitment to ensuring that every student succeeds.

The maths faculty is the highest performing in the school. Outstanding student progress in maths puts us consistently amongst the highest performing schools in the country and mathematics is our most popular subject in the sixth form. We teach both maths and further maths at A level and many students go on to study maths at university. A central element of this post will be to continue to develop our sixth form provision.

We are London's only Faraday Science School - STEM subjects are at the heart of our curriculum. Our exceptional links with Queen Mary University, King's College London, Warwick University and the University of East London shape an inspirational curriculum. Through our Teacher-Fellowship Scheme, you will be paired with an academic mentor from one of our three Russell Group university partners.

In March 2013, Ofsted described the school as 'outstanding' in every category, including the sixth form. The school was commended for its "relentless pursuit of scholarship and excellence". Our award-winning new building is situated in the heart of East London. Professor Brian Cox OBE is our patron.

If you would like to play your part in delivering outstanding provision for our students, we would very much like to hear from you.
