Judged by OFSTED in November 2009 as an outstanding school, The Charter School is a fully inclusive mixed 11 - 18 community school serving an inner-city catchment area and is in the top 4% of schools in the country for value-added at Key Stage 4 and the top 15% of schools in the country for value-added at Key Stage 5. Furthermore, we were recently commended by the Minister of State for Schools for the progress of our pupil premium students, placing us in the top 108 schools in the country.

To add to the success of our outstanding school and to ensure continuous improvement we require from September 2014: Subject Leader - Music.

We are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of Music to lead our successful Music Department. The successful candidate will have a track record of outstanding teaching and the interpersonal and leadership skills to inspire and motivate pupils and staff. A commitment to extra-curricular activities such as competitions, school performances and productions is essential.

Music is taught across all Key Stages and is well supported for individual music tuition by our team of highly skilled peripatetic music tutors. The school offers any interested pupils the opportunity for instrumental lessons.
