We are therefore looking to recruit innovative, dedicated and enthusiastic people to provide flexible support to adults with a range of learning disabilities or groups to plan and carry out activities of their choice within their own homes and using facilities within the local community through our outreach services.

It is our expectation at MacIntyre that our Support Workers play a key role in developing the independence of the individuals that we support in every aspect of their lives.  You will be comfortable to support individuals, emotionally and physically alongside the provision of personal care as required.

As a Support Worker you will need to have a can do attitude and be willing to learn new skills and try new activities in order to provide the best possible service to the people we support.   The role is varied and will include supporting people in the community as well as in their own home. You will work as part of a team and be flexible. Support Workers also facilitate sessions such as drama, music, dance - whatever the person you are supporting chooses to do.  New ideas are always welcomed.

The support of the individuals in these services are tailored to meet their personal needs and aspirations, as such you will be required to look for new ways of assisting the people we support enabling them to achieve the things that they want to achieve within their lives, contributing to the creation of those person centred plans and their ongoing development.

It is MacIntyre's belief that a good Support Worker has the right behaviours and attitude for the role and that experience is not always necessary.  So whether you are a currently working within the Social Care sector or are considering a career in Social Care we would welcome you to get in touch.

It will be important that you can demonstrate a flexible approach to work as you will be required to work shifts on a rota, including weekends and bank holidays.

It is essential for this position that you hold a full manual driving license which allows you to drive in the UK, together your own transport which is insured for business use.

Salaries are dependent on successful completion of a probation period and in some cases relevant qualifications.  Part time and term time only positions are pro rata.
