Why the Systems Developer is important to MK College
To enable the delivery of teaching and learning, MK College needs to be able to produce a wide variety of data, analysis and metrics. Simple translation is not good enough and this where the Systems Developer comes into it. The Systems Developer who promotes quality in every action and program they produce will help to enable the Information and Analysis team provide technical and analytical expertise to staff across the organisation.
We are looking for a talented Systems Developer who would like to be part of something bigger. Someone who will ideally be a lead or motivator to other members of the team, with previous experience pushing the boundaries on the development and introduction on new and bespoke systems and platforms. We utilise a number of different languages to produce the programs so experience programming with a number of these including but not limited to: ASP.NET 4.0, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript / JQuery, IIS and Team Foundation Server (TFS); we would also like our Systems Developer to enjoy, investigate and research new technologies and introduce them to the College.
Finally, a lot of our resource is built around SQL and experience of SQL Server - including the use of T/SQL, and stored procedure creation and maintenance, using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 2012, as well as Reporting Services - would be needed to excel in this position.
Here are some of the recent and upcoming projects you can get your .Net's and C#'s stuck into:
- Development of a reporting dashboard, highlighting early indicators of student achievement. This also enabled improved exception reporting, giving clearer information on in-year progress towards targets;
- Introduction of self-service business intelligence, covering quality, finance and personnel KPIs;
