Royal School for the Deaf Derby is a child centred day and weekly residential school providing deaf children aged 3-19 with equal access to language (English and BSL), literacy and numeracy and all curriculum areas. We promote a strong sense of identity and independence in all our pupils.
Our Primary Department is expanding and we are looking for enthusiastic teachers to join our team of like-minded professionals. You will have a proven record of delivering excellent teaching and learning to pupils with a wide range of special needs, be an innovative practitioner who inspires pupils to achieve their full potential and be confident working at both KS1 and KS2.
Applications are welcome from both full-time and job share candidates.
Learning in our small classes is complemented by dedicated teaching assistants and support from a specialist speech and language therapist, an audiologist and a Complex SEN Co-ordinator.
Successful applicants will benefit from a personalised CPD plan which includes British Sign Language and working towards an MA with Teacher of the Deaf status.
Safeguarding pupils and vulnerable groups is our highest priority. All appointments at the school are subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
