We are looking to appoint a teacher to teach within our speech and language provision in addition to leading and managing the entire provision. This is a unique career opportunity. The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of teachers and specialist teaching assistants as well as working closely with our on-site speech therapists. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside our existing leader prior to her retirement.

We are looking for someone exceptional for a very special, rewarding and challenging job.

Candidates must:

• Have qualified teacher status and significant experience of working with primary aged children with speech and language needs; preferably within a specialist resource based provision
• Be an excellent teacher
• Have successful experience of leadership and management within a primary school; preferably, but not essentially within special educational needs
• Have a thorough understanding of the impact of specific language impairment and speech disorders on children's progress and social interaction
• Have successful line management experience
• Have a thorough knowledge of and experience of working with a range of outside agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children; particularly proven successful experience of working collaboratively with speech and language therapists
• Have proven successful experience of working with families
• Have a thorough and up to date knowledge of the primary curriculum, effective teaching and learning and the SEN code of practice
• Have the ability to inspire, challenge and support children, staff and parents.
