We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, energetic and innovative Teacher of Art to join our outstanding Art Department. We offer an outstanding professional development programme, a successful, supportive and highly strategic Senior Leadership Team and an opportunity to be part of a dynamic developing organisation.

The Howard of Effingham is an outstanding school. It offers maximum opportunities for young people to develop academically and socially in an environment that is stimulating, caring and supportive. The school sets high standards that instil values which enable students to develop into confident and responsible young adults.

The Howard has a well deserved reputation for academic excellence. Each year our GCSE results have placed us among the top comprehensive schools in Surrey. In the 2013 A Level examinations there was a 99% pass rate of which 81% were grade A*-C with an average 364 UCAS points per student. The Headteacher is supported by a team of senior leaders and curriculum areas are led by Heads of Faculty and Subject Leaders.  Year Leaders and Year Managers lead the year teams and are responsible for students’ pastoral care. The school is also very well-supported by highly capable and professional support staff in both student-facing and administration roles. Staff development is an important and ongoing priority, and significant investment is put into staff training.
