Job overview

Teacher of Art, Liverpool

MPS/UPS

Holly Lodge Girls College continues to be a highly successful and popular 11 - 18 school focused on the academic and pastoral success, achievement and fulfilment of all its students. We are committed to providing an appropriately dynamic curriculum accessible by all students and enriched by high quality learning and teaching and an extensive range of extracurricular activities. The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Art to contribute to our ongoing success.

The art department at Holly Lodge Girls' College forms part of the Creative Arts Faculty which also includes drama, music and media studies. We deliver a diverse curriculum which incorporates art, craft and design throughout the Key Stages within four specialist pathways; 2D visual communication, 3D/ceramics, graphic design and creative textiles. Schemes of work at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 GCSE projects and a vocational qualification at Key Stage 5 (BTEC Level 3) ensure that the knowledge and skills that pupils gain in the classroom are relevant and transferrable to the creative industries. This is partly achieved through successful partnerships with local businesses, organisations and community groups along with collaborations with visiting artists, feeder primary schools as well international schools. Cross curricular links and commissions from other departments also ensure that the arts compliment and support learning across the school. This role would contribute to the ongoing success of this faculty.
