Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic teachers to work within our Art department. We are seeking to appoint an ambitious person who combines excellent teaching skills, an enthusiasm for and commitment to the subject and an ability to inspire and motivate pupils. We currently offer pupils the opportunity to study GCSE Art and Design.

Wellfield was judged 'Good' by Ofsted in March 2014.

The school is currently undergoing an £8.5million refurbishment as part of BSF which will be completed by the end of the summer term. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and areas of outstanding natural beauty. We benefit from a Beacon Nursery in the village.

Wellfield School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school without sixth form situated in Wingate, County Durham.
