Job overview

Teacher of Art & Design, Newham

An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding teacher to join our thriving, successful school and to teach Art and Design to Key Stage 4. Art is a very popular subject in our school and we wish to appoint a colleague with the knowledge and skills to enthuse our highly ambitious students. The ability to teach another subject, preferably Drama or Music to KS3 would be an advantage.

Brampton Manor is a mixed 11-18 Academy converter school with over 1600 pupils on roll. It is an over-subscribed school with a firm commitment to comprehensive principles and outstanding examination results. In 2013, 75% achieved 5 or more grades at A*-C including English and Maths. Brampton Manor was graded outstanding in its last Ofsted inspection. There is a distinctive ethos which combines a relatively informal supportive approach with a sharp focus on learning and achievement.

Art is a very successful subject in our school with outstanding results at GCSE. In 2013, 92% of the students achieved A*-C grades, while 26% achieved A/A* grades! The Visual Arts department operates in a fully consultative, supportive manner. We would welcome applications from NQTs and more experienced teachers to take on additional responsibility within the learning area.

Please visit our website www.bramptonmanor.org to apply and for further details about the opportunities available.

Brampton Manor Trust is committed to the safeguarding of children. Enhanced DBS checks will always be carried out on new employees.
