We are seeking a well qualified and highly motivated graduate teacher of Art to teach in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Art is a compulsory element of the curriculum to the end of Year 9 when it becomes one of the options that students may choose to pursue to GCSE and beyond to A level. Visual perception and drawing are the foundations on which our courses are based and the successful candidate must have skills in these areas. There is considerable scope for someone with imagination and drive to play a significant part in the further development of the subject area. The ability to work flexibly across a range of media would be an advantage.

The North Halifax Grammar School, is a mixed selective school which has joint admissions arrangements with a partner grammar school in Halifax.
The school has an impressive record of attainment at GCSE and at A Level. One third of Year 13 students secured places at Russell Group universities in 2012.
The school was judged Good with an Outstanding Sixth Form in its last inspection in November 2023. Their report described the school as “ambitious and caring” and said “students receive high levels of academic and pastoral support”. "As a result, relationships between students and staff are warm and respectful,” said the report. "This helps to promote a positive culture in the school.” Of particular note was the frequent use of the word ‘joy’ to describe the experience of being in the school.
The school benefits from an experienced and focused Governance Board and exceptionally supportive parents. The school buildings have undergone major improvement and development including the addition of a state of the art sports hall.
