Job overview

Teacher of Art and Photography, Hillingdon

"Top 100 Most Improved Schools Nationally" (Feb 2012) Ofsted: Good in all areas, March 2012

Barnhill is a successful and innovative school in West London. In 2013, we achieved our highest GCSE results and were in the top 20% of schools nationally for value added at both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

Art and Design is a popular and successful subject. It is part of the Creative Arts Faculty which has a high profile within the school. The Art and Design and Photography facilities are excellent. The staff are forward thinking and the Faculty has a reputation for strong student work. Art and Design delivers an exciting curriculum at all Key Stages including offering GCSEs in Fine Art, Photography and Ceramics.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Art and Design with a specialism in Photography to join our successful and vibrant Department to teach courses across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Experience in teaching Photography at GCSE and A Level is desirable.

This post would suit an NQT or an experienced colleague. We have a well-regarded programme of CPD and NQT induction. A July start is available should an NQT applicant be successful for a September start, which will mean payment over the summer. Staff also benefit from free gym membership.
