Amery Hill School is located in the market town of Alton (close to the A3) with easy access to Guildford and Portsmouth. It is a thriving, vibrant and high-achieving secondary school where students are polite, well behaved and motivated. It has been judged by Ofsted as good with outstanding features

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and inspiring classroom teacher who will help to develop further an already very successful department.

All students study Art from Years 7 to 9 with 90% achieving level 5 or better in the KS3 assessments in 2013. In 2014 students taking both Fine Art and 3D Art to GCSE level achieved excellent results.

The department is well equipped with an interactive whiteboard and other facilities including a kiln. Each teacher has his/her own work base.

The teacher we are seeking to appoint will be:

  • A qualified teacher
  • A graduate of a Art related discipline
  • An enthusiast for Art and teaching
  • Aware of current developments in Art education
  • Someone with the ability to inspire students
  • Someone who can demonstrate excellent teaching skills
  • Able to relate well to adults and students
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Committed to the extra-curricular life of the school
  • ICT literate
