Belmont House School

At Belmont House School we value every child for the individual that they are and offer a personal educational experience that is second to none. We offer a broad and balanced education of the highest standard, both within and outwith the classroom. This information will give you a flavour of what it means to have the privilege of a Belmont House education, but these can only serve to give you a brief introduction to the School.

Class Size

With one of the smallest average class sizes of any major school in Scotland, academic standards are high and have placed Belmont House amongst the top schools in Scotland . The School strives for success in every area of education and a flexible approach to timetabling allows for varied subject choices, while a wide range of extra-curricular activities allows each pupil to expand their interests and opportunities, laying strong foundations for their future.

Beyond the Classroom

School is not just about what happens inside the classroom, vital as that is, and Sport and Extra-Curricular activities play a major part in every pupil's life at Belmont House. An enviable range of extra-curricular activities allows each pupil to expand their interests and opportunities, laying strong foundations for their future. Considerable success is achieved in a wide range of sports at both national and district levels, with pupils regularly gaining representative honours, and teams competing against other schools in a variety of sports.

Development

The School is investing heavily in new state-of-the-art facilities and work has started on Phase 1. This development will house a Sports Hall, catering facilities, Science Laboratories, IT Suites, Music Suite, Drama Studio and general classroom space housed on two levels. A new management suite was opened in August 2006 providing quality offices and creating additional classroom space. These facilities will greatly enhance the learning and teaching environment for the pupils and the extra space generated will permit improvements to be made in the main building allowing even greater curriculum flexibility.
Belmont House School is focusing on the future with great optimism, an expanding school role and further new facilities as we continue to strive for personal excellence for each of our pupils.
