Teacher of Computer Science/ICT - 2nd in Department position
We require a 2nd in Department (2A allowance) to support our teachers and enhance achievement at Key Stage 4 and 5 with particular focus in Computer Science. Management experience is not essential for this post however a passion for making a positive impact on students' life chances is an essential prerequisite.
A well established and supportive induction programme is provided for all new staff and comprehensive child protection procedures are in place. Applications from Newly Qualified Teachers or experienced staff are welcomed.

Southam College actively seeks to promote British values within an atmosphere of respect, tolerance and the celebration of difference. Students are encouraged to develop moral skills and an awareness of philosophical questioning.
The secondary school’s Life Skills curriculum focuses on parliamentary democracy, in order to develop an understanding of the freedoms afforded to citizens of a democracy and the consequences of an undemocratic society.
Students’ appreciation of democracy is further enhanced by the fact that they have the opportunity to be elected to an active student council. They are also taught about democracy during year-group assemblies.

“Teachers plan lessons which are at the right level of difficulty for students and which result in all students making excellent progress. Students receive effective feedback from teachers which helps them to improve their work very well. Students feel safe at the school and they have a strong understanding of safety matters. The headteacher has high expectations of all staff and students. These expectations are shared by all leaders. Consequently, students have appropriately high expectations of themselves.”
