Job overview
The main purpose of the role is to teach Drama across key stage 3, 4 and 5 and Musical Theatre at key stage 5. To deliver innovative and creative lessons that engage and challenge students to achieve their full potential
The successful candidate will have the:
- Ability to teach 11- 19 age range; GCSE Drama at KS4, BTEC level 3 & A Level KS5
- Ability to teach a range of Performing Arts skills as well as drama
- Ability to run and assist with theatre trips
- Passion for Performing Arts
- Ability to teach across all key stages and across other areas of the curriculum at KS3
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a proven record as an excellent classroom practitioner
- Be well informed on current educational issues and initiatives
- Be prepared to develop best practice through coaching and mentoring
- Be prepared to participate in extracurricular activities such as school productions
- Demonstrate an appreciation of the ethos and standards of teaching within a high performing academy
- Show commitment to professional development
- Be adaptable and flexible and calm under pressure

Student Care

We work closely with primary schools and parents to ensure that students who join us in Year 7 are confident and excited about joining Walton. Similarly we work closely with our Post 16 and other further education providers to ensure that students have the best possible opportunities for the next stage in their lives. Each student has a tutor to provide day to day care, and for those times when a little more support is needed we have a strong pastoral care team and a network of professionals to call upon.
