We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher of Engineering to this exciting new school, a University Technical College (UTC). The UTC opened in September 2013 in a newly refurbished building which replicates a business environment with state-of?the-art facilities. This is a role that will allow you to truly be part of something very new; not only a new school but a new approach to educating 14-19 year olds; which is possibly the most exciting change in the education landscape in decades.
All students at UTC Reading specialise in either Engineering or Computer Science; at 14 they will also study a broad and balanced curriculum and at Post 16 the curriculum becomes more specialist with A levels in Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer Science, Product Design, Business and Chemistry being studied alongside their specialist BTEC Level 3 course in Engineering or IT with a handful of globally recognised qualifications to prepare them for the workplace. At capacity we will be educating 600 students who will all have a passion for Engineering or Computer Science; it will be a truly inspirational environment.

Located in Reading, Berkshire, UTC Reading is a co-educational University Technical College. The school offers places to students in years 10-13. UTC Reading covers a large culturally diverse catchment area, a fact reflected in its student intake. The school was founded in 2013, and exists on a modern campus. UTC Reading is heavily focused on engineering and computer science, providing a high-quality curriculum in co-operation with industry partners.
