The Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Central Manchester NHS Foundation Trust with Manchester City Council and Manchester College as co-sponsors. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and is now amongst the most popular schools in the city, showing significant academic improvement a rapidly expanding student population and growing sixth form provision.

As a member of the Academy teaching staff you will be tasked with delivering high quality teaching and learning to enable all our students to achieve the highest standards.  Achievement in English has improved significantly over the last three years and is consistently in line with or above the national average, but we are always seeking to improve. This role therefore represents an exciting opportunity to work as a member of a committed and highly innovative team delivering the curriculum in a new learning environment where collaboration and team work is essential.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, committed, qualified teacher who relishes a challenge and will go the extra mile for their students.  You should be passionate about your subject and be capable of inspiring students and generating energy and enthusiasm for learning.  The ability to teach core literacy skills to all and media studies at KS4 is also desirable for this role.   The successful candidate will be required to plan and deliver literacy sessions to accelerate the progress of students across the Academy.
