Wallasey School is committed to the principle of entitlement

All pupils should enjoy equal access to a broad range of educational opportunities during the compulsory years of schooling (age 11-16).

We value all our pupils equally, but we also value their right to be different and recognise that they have individual needs and ambitions. We respect our pupils equally, regardless of sex, colour and creed, and believe that all of them can be helped to discover and realise their true potential.

As an Extended School we attach great importance to all the activities which go to make up the overall learning community, both inside and outside of the classroom. We believe that "children learn what they live" and those who gain most from school are those who contribute most to the life of the school.

We aim to be a caring school

We aim to be a caring school, where the pupils are happy and want to come to school. We seek to develop good relationships between pupils and with staff on a basis of mutual respect. The emphasis is placed on rewarding good behaviour. Positive encouragement, praise, tolerance and fairness are the cornerstones of our philosophy of "Positive Behaviour”. In this way, pupils can enhance their own self-esteem and self-confidence in an ordered environment.

For learning to be of a high quality, we recognise that teaching must also be of high quality. The governors are committed to the appointment of well-qualified teaching staff to maintain high academic standards. We also seek to appoint staffs who are willing to support and become fully involved in school life.
