Blairgowrie High School strives to develop every pupil both personally and socially as well as ensuring that every opportunity is given for pupils to experience success at national examinations. In this way we hope to provide a sound basis for every pupil to progress beyond the school to their chosen career or extend their learning to their choice of course at college or university.

At the heart of our school community is a partnership - between parents, staff, pupils, and friends of the school. We aim to provide a positive learning environment. Where pupils want to come and learn, teachers want to come and work and parents want to send their children. With all partners of the school community working positively together, we can achieve this aim.

Blairgowrie High School is the sole secondary school for East Perthshire, and therefore covers a wide catchment area. To the West we extend almost to Dunkeld; to the North our area stretches up Glenshee past the Spittal, to the border with Aberdeenshire Council; to the East our area extends to the Angus border and finally to the South-East, Tullybaccart - the highest point on the road between Coupar Angus and Dundee - is our boundary with Dundee Council.

The school serves the towns of Blairgowrie and Rattray and their immediate surrounds and villages.  Our associated Primary Schools are Alyth, Burrelton, Coupar Angus, Glendelvine, Kettins, Kirkmichael, Meigle, Newhill, Rattray and St Stephen's.

For further information, please contact the Head Teacher on 01250 871200.

Please note, should you be invited to attend interview, you will be asked to provide 2 references, one of which must be your current or most recent head teacher.  If you are already employed as a teacher with Perth & Kinross Council, you are only required to provide 1 reference, which must be from your current head teacher.

As Perth & Kinross Council operate an open reference policy, the onus will be on you to provide us with your references.  You should print off the job profile and reference form and give them to your referees for completion.  (An alternative is to save it and e-mail it to your referees).  It is also important to include the reference number of the post on the proforma.  The references should then be presented to the chair of the interview panel when you attend.

Please APPLY ONLINE. Online facilities are available at all public libraries in Perth and Kinross.  If you have a disability and require reasonable adjustments, please call 01738 475000 to discuss.
