Douglas Ewart High School is a mixed, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in Wigtownshire, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school is situated in Newton Stewart, Dumfries & Galloway.

Douglas Ewart High School wants all students to achieve their full potential, and works to create an environment where the values of ambition and self-worth are promoted. It is important to the secondary school that all students feel supported, and it focuses on recognising individual talents and achievements. The Newton Stewart secondary school nurtures positive behaviour and teamwork, wanting to maintain a good, strong partnership between staff, parents and students. The school fosters strong relationships between peers and wants to ensure that respect and tolerance are shown towards individuals, regardless of their differences or beliefs. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are organised for students across the year groups to get involved in and extend their learning experience beyond the classroom, meet new friends and discover new talents and interests. These range from vocational based, such as the Young Writers Club, to sports and fitness clubs. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is also available for students to take part in.
