We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of English from January 2015; an individual that will support the department in achieving its ambitious targets and goals and be actively involved in teaching English up to Key Stage 5. We encourage applications from teachers who feel they can add value to an already highly-effective department and prosper in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Woolwich Polytechnic School has recently converted to an Academy and is now part of PolyMAT (multi academy trust). Woolwich Polytechnic also has the privilege of being granted Sponsor Academy status.

The English department is extremely successful.  In 2014 they achieved 80% A*-C in the English Language GCSE, demonstrating that the Department continues to excel as it improves by 7% on last year's results. These results mean that English is very popular at A-Level, therefore KS5 experience is essential.

Woolwich Poly is an all-inclusive boys' school (co-educational at Post 16) and was rated outstanding in its last inspection (2011). The school prides itself on a culture of high standards and values from staff and pupils. It is a demanding yet rewarding school where students and staff feel valued and supported. We are looking for a teacher who has:

  • A genuine passion for teaching English, which is clearly demonstrated in the classroom.
  • A proven record of consistently outstanding lessons and the delivery of high quality outcomes.
  • The ability to work within and add value to an already highly-effective and motivated team
  • The ability to develop and constantly modify exceptional practice in-line with a continually changing climate
  • A desire to further raise overall achievement and success of English within the school.
  • Experience of teaching all key stages
