The governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of English with responsibility for more able students across the college, forming a key role within a very successful, high performing English team, in the College's Communication Learning Zone. The successful candidate will have strong motivational skills and a passion for their subject.

John Ferneley is a highly creative 11 to 16 college boasting two state of the art new buildings based around five innovative learning zones, timetabled in half or whole day blocks. The college was rated Good with Outstanding Features by Ofsted in December 2010, and achieved Academy status in November 2011.

The person appointed will need to be an outstanding and creative teacher with good IT skills and a commitment to transforming the life chances of young people.

This is a full-time permanent vacancy with a view for the successful candidate to start on 5th January 2015. The role of More Able Coordinator attracts a TLR2a per annum.

We are an 11-16 secondary academy and part of the Mowbray Education Trust. 

Located in the beautiful rural market town of Melton Mowbray, we serve around 1150 students from within Melton Mowbray and beyond.
