Values and Vision

Isambard Community aims to make sure every child feels important and a part of the school. It hopes to encourage students to be life-long learners and feel honoured to be a member of the establishment. The school values extra-curricular activities. This includes taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the school’s enrichment activities, which run from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. The aim is to help every student reach their full potential. Students are also able to work on the in-house radio facility. It started in 2010 after being established by the Heart radio station.

Ofsted report

Pupils are provided with a range of experiences to promote their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. For example, they have participated in a project to understand the Holocaust and recently took part in the European Day of Languages. Pupils also engage enthusiastically in projects for charities, such as supporting the local food bank. Pupils are able to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Staff identify individuals’ level of skill which they match to activities which helps pupils’ development. However, this is not pupils’ normal experience in a wide range of subjects.”
