Job overview

Teacher of Geography and Humanities, Ealing

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Geography who is able to teach key stages 3 and 4. An ability to teach Geography A 'Level, and also PSHCE and some KS3 RE, would also be advantageous.

The Humanities Department is expanding with all students now studying History or Geography. As such, an ability to plan effectively is a key requirement. You should be committed to raising standards within the curriculum, as well as making a contribution to an extensive extra curriculum programme. You will be joining an experienced Humanities team with its own teaching and resource base. Our new building means that there is excellent access to ICT to support teaching and learning.

Acton High is a school committed to serving our local community, championing diversity and inclusion, and seeking innovative ways to engage students and their families. We work in an award-winning building and have excellent facilities, a strong staff group and enthusiastic students. Results are improving but we still have some way to go and are making the changes necessary to improve attainment.

We have a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The post is subject to suitable references and the successful applicant will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) which was formerly known as Criminal Records Bureau.
